Event Details
The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is an all-volunteer organization, with members from all walks of life, dedicated to preserving the history of combat aircraft which were flown by all military services of the United States. The CAF is a non-profit, privately funded and totally self-supporting 501 (c)3 organization. Our CAF aircraft fly!! Each year more Americans see them, touch their metal, smell their exhaust smoke, and listen to the ROAR of their piston engines than visit static displays of all other aviation museums combined! The CAF aircraft throughout the U.S. perform before nearly 10,000,000 spectators every year, recalling the hard-won victories of Americans and other freedom-loving people around the world during the years between 1939 and 1945. The Southern California Wing, CAF was formed in March, 1981, and now has 350+ members. The Wing holds an Open House during most summer holiday weekends.
The WWII Aviation Museum is currently only open on Friday and Saturday from 10AM to 4PM, and Sunday 12-4PM and closed Monday through Thursday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. We accept donations Adults – $10.00; Students (10-18) – $5.00; Children (6-10) – $3.00; Children under 6 and Current Military – No Charge. Our volunteers are at the hangars working on our aircraft on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays – from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Our cadre of volunteer docents are very knowledgeable and are glad to give tours of our facilities to groups (including school groups/classes). We need reservations for tour groups of ten or more in order to line up docents to guide you through. Please call (805) 482-0064 to make a reservation. We’ll have someone to show you around our facilities and make your visit a memorable one. We have an ever-growing museum of World War II aviation artifacts and displays, along with an aviation library. There is a gift shop in the museum for you to purchase mementos of your visit with us.

Step back in time and experience daily life on a sprawling California rancho at the turn of the last century. Docent-guided tours of the Camarillo family’s 1892 Queen Anne Victorian home provide access to all 15 rooms, including the family’s bedrooms and Adolfo’s study and ranch office (now an exhibit room with revolving displays). Admire the 12-foot ceilings and extensive interior woodwork as you wander the house. Items belonging to the Camarillo family, historical photographs, and period-appropriate furnishings bring to life the colorful stories shared by our knowledgeable docents. Don’t forget to step outside and take in lovely views of the front lawn and gardens from the home’s generous wraparound porch.
Historic Home Tours last between 45-60 minutes and include access to the first and second floors.
Docent led house tours are on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM (last tour starts at 1:30 PM). House tour fees are $5.00 per person (cash only). Children 12 and under are free. Rubber soled shoes are recommended. If there is a special event on either day, tours may not occur.

Event Details
Over the years, the Camarillo Certified Farmers Market has become a community meeting place every Saturday morning where friends, neighbors and strangers shop, socialize and celebrate “the Good Life” and our agricultural heritage. When you shop at the Camarillo Farmers Market, you are supporting local farmers and artisans and helping local residents.
The Camarillo Farmers Market is entirely managed and run by volunteers! Everything — including coordinating the vendors you see each week, setting up, and managing the market office — is done by volunteers.
As a California Certified Farmers Markets (CFM), the Camarillo Farmers Market is a step above other farmers markets. A CFM is a place where farmers sell their own crops directly to the public. Before a farmer can sell his or her crop(s) at a Certified Farmers Market, the County Agricultural Commissioner inspects the farm to make sure the farmer is, in fact, growing the crop he or she is selling. The direct marketing of agricultural products through CFMs eliminates packing, shipping, and third-party handling and ensures that consumers are purchasing safe, nutritious, vine and tree-ripened fruit and vegetables grown in California and certified by the State.

Event Details
The exhibition transports the viewer into a world of hidden stories and unremembered residents of the former Rancho Guadalasca- A Mexican era land grant which stretched from Mugu Lagoon to Dos Vientos, and includes CSU Channel Islands. This ranch, more than thirty thousand acres in size, with Chumash, Spanish, Mexican, and American residents, serves as a microcosm of the past and present of Ventura County and the greater Central Coast of California. Residents of the Guadalasca invented tomols, searched for gold, farmed, raised livestock, quarried, fished, hosted movie stars, fought wildfires, survived storms and shipwrecks, and built railroads. Some celebrated the multicultural nature of the local communities; others celebrated exclusionary treatment of immigrants. Some residents committed crimes, including murder; others were victimized. Some residents were resilient in the face of adversity, others failed and left. The people and events of the Guadalasca reflect the past and present of CSU Channel Islands: the amazing, the good, the regretful and, sometimes, the bad.
Photographs, historical maps, contemporary art, ephemera, newspapers, oral histories, and artifacts are used to celebrate these people, events, and activities, linking the past to the present day.
Please come to campus and journey through space and time as you meet the residents of the Guadalasca, all of whom helped us Arrive at CI.
The exhibit is part of the official 150th anniversary celebration of the establishment of Ventura County.

November 11, 2023 – January 8, 2024
The Reagan Foundation is pleased to announce that Christmas Around the World is coming back to the Reagan Library. Christmas Around the World includes 26 exquisitely decorated trees representing the 26 countries that President Reagan visited while in office, as well as a White House Tree. Decorations encompass the bright and festive colors of the Caribbean, the crystals of the Nordic countries and the traditional decorations of England and Europe. Of particular note is the Vatican tree decorated entirely with white ornaments featuring a life-size white peacock that adorns the tree’s branches. The featured tree is an elegant reproduction of President and Mrs. Reagan’s White House tree complete with “Reagan Red” decorations and dozens of hand-blown glass ornaments.
In addition, the exhibition will feature a “Gold Star Family Memorial Tree.” Gold Star families are encouraged to come to the Library to add an ornament of their loved one.
There is no cost to add to the tree. Families can bring their own ornament from home and place it on the tree, or they can use our gold star ornament to attach a personal photo to and add their loved one’s name.
The Reagan Library is open every day of the week, except Thanksgiving, December 2nd, Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Event Details
Write a letter to Santa and drop it in the big red mailbox at the Community Center and he will write a letter back to you!
-
Use your own stationery to write your letter, or you can download our letter template to fill out and mail to Santa. Be sure to include your name & address so Santa can reply! No postage stamps are necessary. If you do not provide a return address, the PVRPD elves won’t know where to send your letter and will be so sad…
-
Bring your letter to the Community Center and drop it in the giant red mailbox located right in front of the Administrative Office at 1605 E. Burnley Street, Camarillo.
-
Take a photo of you or your kids placing the letter in the mailbox and share it with us on social media using #PVRPDLettersToSanta on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
-
Santa will write a letter back to each person who placed an envelope in the big red mailbox (as long as they included their name & mailing address). The reply should come in the mail before Christmas to the address provided.
Email Santa
Santa is pretty hi-tech these days, so if you prefer to send him an email instead of a hand-written letter you can email him at sclaus@pvrpd.org. Mr. Claus will reply with a special greeting! Don’t forget to include your name! Unfortunately, Santa doesn’t always know who ilovechristmas@gmail.com is… although we’re pretty sure it’s Rudolph.
Hand Your Letter to Santa in Person
Santa will make appearances at the Cookies with the Clauses event, and at Santa’s Village after the Parade on December 9 if you’d like to hand your letter to him in person.

Exhibition open: November 30 – December 16, 2023
Opening Reception: November 30 from 5pm – 7pm
This exhibition will celebrate creative works in non-traditional media by artists of Chinese descent that speak to the continuous exchange between East and West. We seek to generate cross-cultural comparative insights for a new understanding of Chinese art as an international force taking many forms. This exhibition expands beyond national boundaries to consider how works of art and artists have interacted across their experiences in China and the United States.
As a non-profit organization, the Association of Chinese Artists in American Academia (ACAAC) was founded in 2003 by a group of Chinese artists who teach and research in American universities. Attending the first national exhibition and symposium held at California State University, Long Beach, this group of artists came into consensus in creating a platform for sharing their artistic experiences and educational endeavors. Having been a continuation of the Association’s scholarly endeavor of the past two decades, this 2022 Forum Across the Divide is pleased to invite all ACAAC members to participate in this exhibition.
