Farm Experience Day at McGrath Family Farm

Spend 1.5 hours on the historic McGrath Family Farm in Camarillo, the proud home farm of Farmivore. Farm Experience Day aims to connect the community with their farms, which is what being a “Farmivore” is all about.

You will learn about the legacy the land we work on, and how the present collaborative is carrying that legacy forward into the future and bringing new farmers on board. You’ll learn about our ambitious plans for soil regeneration. Most importantly, you’ll see what it’s like behind the scenes of where your food comes from, and get “hands on” with a 15 minute activity of a daily farm task! Even in our techy, modern world, food still grows according to natural processes in real soil, and it’s a joy to see it!

This event is ideal for adults and children age 15+. We host other events which are better for families, but for this one we recommend not bringing younger children.

Attendance is free, and all participants are entered to win a free McGrath Family Farmers Hat or T-Shirt, and a free box of local produce. All attendees will receive a coupon for Farmivore (new customers only), allowing you to try our farm-to-home delivery with 100% customizable boxes from the farm.

Please come dressed for the weather, remembering that farm weather is more intense than the city (mud after rain, windy, sunny etc..). Bring your own water, and arrive 10 minutes early to start the tour promptly. Look for the “Farm Day” banner on the chain link fence and follow the flag to the meeting spot. Masks and social distancing required. Unfortunately we cannot allow dogs on the farm. Please RSPV only if you are highly likely to come because we have limited spots.
