Come out to join us for our next presentation in the series: V-E Day on May 13, 2023 at the CAFSoCal Museum.
This May marks the 78th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day (V-E Day, May 8, 1945), celebrating the formal acceptance of Germany’s surrender in World War II. Little talked about in the German Luftwaffe are the Messerschmidt ME-108 Taifun personnel transport and liaison aircraft and the Fieseler Fi-156 Storch liaison and covert operations aircraft. On Saturday May 13th the Commemorative Air Force Southern California Wing at the Camarillo Airport will commemorate V-E Day with a presentation on these two under the radar Luftwaffe workhorses. Weather, operations, and maintenance permitting CAF SoCal will also fly one of their warbirds for you.
Requested donation of $10 per person – thank you for your support!

In addition to flying aircraft, the wing also has a wide-ranging collection of World War II artifacts displayed in a Hangar Museum. Due to COVID restrictions, their opening hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 AM to 4 PM, and Sunday, 12 PM to 4 PM. They are closed on Monday-Thursday and some holidays. The newly expanded wing at over 55,000 square feet includes three hangar complexes to house their museum, flying aircraft, warbird restorations, and gift shop.
