Studio Channel Islands Art Center (SCIART) will open Emergence, its first exhibition of the year, on Feb. 4 2023.  Featuring work from Mona Saii and four pieces from the late Gerd Koch. The exhibition on display showcases various forms of visual art created by juniors, seniors, and recent graduates from local universities. The opening day ceremony will be accompanied by remarks from CSUCI President Richard Yao and Camarillo Mayor Susan Santangelo. The exhibition takes place in SCIART’s Blackboard Gallery, located at 2222 E. Ventura Blvd. in Camarillo and is free to attend.
Emergence will also feature works by our newest recipient of the Roxie Ray fund; Mona Saii. The Roxie Ray fund supports emerging artists with up to three years of subsidized studio space and with professional mentor support and employment opportunities. Mona Saii is a recent graduate from California Lutheran University, she is a print maker whose work can be whimsical and yet poignant.
