The Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District has four epic movie nights in store this summer as part of their Friday night Movies in the Park series: Mary Poppins Returns (6/17) at Community Center Park; Encanto (7/8) at Constitution Park; Hairspray (7/19) at Constitution Park; and Jungle Book (8/12) at Community Center Park. Lawn seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring blankets, low folding chairs and a picnic. The fun begins at 6:00 p.m. with live music and lawn games and movie screenings begin at 8:15 p.m.
Now in its 43rd year, the Ventura County Greek Festival is one of the longest-running cultural festivals and most beloved community traditions in all of Ventura County. Head to Freedom Park at the Camarillo Airport for three days and nights of all things Greek. There will be vendors, dance performances, delicious Mediterranean food and live Greek music. Learn the art of Greek dancing, participate in daily wine seminars and savor more interactive entertainment. The festival hours run Friday 11:00 a.m. – Midnight, Saturday 11:00 a.m. – Midnight and Sunday 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District and the City of Camarillo are bringing back Camarillo’s outdoor Summer Concerts in the Park series. The four concerts on the line-up are: The Tribe Band (6/25), Forever Rod (7/16), Twisted Gypsy (8/6) and Country Nation (8/27). All concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. and will take place at Constitution Park. Bring low folding chairs, blankets and a picnic dinner to enjoy during the concerts. Food trucks will also be on-site offering many tempting choices for dinner and dessert. Pro tip: seating on the lawn is on a first-come, first-served basis. Save your spot in advance by placing chairs on the grass as early as 8:00 a.m. the morning of the concert!
Back by popular demand, the Camarillo Ranch Foundation will present three editions of its Throwback Thursday Food Truck Festival the last Thursday of the month June through August (6/30, 7/28 and 8/25). Come by the historic Camarillo Ranch House between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. to enjoy an evening of grazing and feasting. Sixteen food trucks and vendors will be dishing out a variety of cuisines, from Middle Eastern and tacos to barbecue and sweet treats. Craft beer and California wine will also be available for purchase.
The City of Camarillo’s annual 4th of July Fireworks Show will be hosted in the Camarillo Premium Outlets’ parking lots. Parking is free and available on first-come, first-served—arrive early for the best view. The 20-minute firework display will begin promptly at 9:00 p.m. Fireworks will also be visible from the surrounding areas. And no matter where you choose to take in the show in the sky, you can tune into the fireworks soundtrack on 95.1 KBBY or 951KBBY.com to join in the shared community experience.
Camarillo Old Town’s Heritage Days Midsummer Block Party serves up four action-packed days and nights of family-friendly entertainment. This is a delightful opportunity to celebrate Camarillo’s rich heritage in charming Old Town while enjoying carnival rides, live music, craft vendors, food trucks, a car show and much more. Thursday is opening night (5:00 – 11:00 p.m.), Friday is Country Western Night (5:00 – 11:00 p.m.) and Saturday (11:00 a.m. – 11:00 pm.) and Sunday (12:00 – 6:00 p.m.) are full-blown Block Parties.
Calling all wine and food lovers! A Taste of Camarillo invites you to spend an afternoon under the trees of the beautiful Camarillo Ranch July 31 from 12:00-4:30 p.m. Sample fine wines, craft brews, spirits and gourmet foods prepared by Ventura County’s finest restaurants. Enjoy live entertainment and boutique shopping—you can even learn how to line dance! All this delicious fun will benefit Ventura County charities, too. Wings Over Camarillo is the leading air show on California’s Central Coast. The educational and entertaining event features exciting flyovers, aerial pyrotechnics, aircraft displays, a car show and a STEM Pavilion that highlights new technologies in aviation and aerospace. Kids can watch robotics demonstrations, create flying objects and participate in more hands-on activities. Helicopter and Warbird rides will also be available for an additional charge.
