Camarillo Grove Park
Located at 6968 E. Camarillo Springs Rd., Camarillo, CA 93012
Camarillo Grove Park, a former stagecoach stop and home to the oldest tree in the district, is nestled in a rustic setting near the base of the Conejo Grade at the end of Camarillo Springs Road.
Escape the hustle and bustle of the nearby freeway with this easy and scenic hike. The lower loop is an easier gently sloping trail with oak trees, sage, volcanic rock formations, and more. The upper loop is a moderate hike, over 1 mile in length, with an approximate 600 foot vertical differential. Learn and discover as you go with posted signage about our local ecosystem. CSU Channel Islands Regional Park
Located at 1 University Dr, Camarillo, CA 93012 (find detailed directions here)
CSUCI University Park is a 367 acre parcel located off Lewis Road separate but adjacent to the main academic campus. In 2009 the land was acquired by the University from the County of Ventura.
The topography of the park includes steep mountain slopes of coastal sage and southern cactus scrub, wetlands and riparian habitat, and two small valleys. Calleguas Creek flows along the northern border of the park. View maps, park rules and more here.
Hill Canyon Trail
Located at Hill Canyon Rd, Camarillo, CA 93012
Hill Canyon Trail is a 3.6 mile multi-use trail that is rated easy and is moderately trafficked. On the weekends many families and doggos venture out to this beautiful trail to spend some time in nature.
The trail offers mountain views, shaded areas and is a great option for beginner hikers. Along the way, there are wildflowers, birds, and a clear running creek. The path also offers a mix of shady spots with cool breezes, and warm sunny open spaces.

Located at Paradise Falls Trailhead, Mesa Trail, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360
Just a short drive away from Camarillo, Wildwood Park Lizard Rock Trail is a 4.1 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located 15 minutes south in Thousand Oaks. This trail features a waterfall and is rated as moderate with scenic mountain views.
Along the way, you will come across river crossings, a pristine waterfall, a creek, and in bloom flowers. The peak is also beautiful with panoramic views of the Camarillo landscape.
Point Mugu Scenic and Overlook Trails
Trailhead begins off Pacific Coast Highway and Sycamore Canyon Rd near Malibu, CA.
Point Mugu Scenic and Overlook Trails Loop is a 2.7 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Malibu, California and only 20 minutes away from Camarillo. This trail features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and mountain biking and is accessible year-round.
