Camarillo boasts a variety of farms and agrotourism opportunities year-round. The idea of farm to table is a lifestyle in Camarillo, and many of the local restaurants feature dishes that incorporate fresh produce from the area. Additionally, many of the local farms offer services such as pick your own produce, CSA’s, farm tours, and fresh produce stands for locals and visitors to enjoy. Not only are the activities fun for the whole family, you’ll also get to taste some of the most delicious produce in Ventura County.

The Abundant Table Farm and Farm Store

The Abundant Table Organic Farm and Farm Store is a nonprofit farm organization that aims to create sustainable relationships with the land and the local community. They have a farm store that sells fresh produce like fruits, vegetables, eggs, and local organic goods. Their “pick your own” organic fruits and veggies program takes place during strawberry season, tomato season, and carrots season. If you’re searching for a farm-to-fork experience, make sure to sign up for their CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) where they grow, pick, wash, pack and deliver their produce straight to home within Ventura County.

The Abundant Table Farm Store is now open offering fresh organic local produce available for purchase. Their U-Pick season dates are soon to be posted. 

Baby Root Farm

Baby Root Farm is a small-scale micro farm that has grown from one acre to over 15 acres at the historic McGrath Ranch. Working alongside other farms, they take pride in sharing their knowledge and skill with the next generation of farmers. This regenerative farm works to connect those that grow the food to those that eat their food through educational farm tours and home delivery of local organic produce – Farmivore. This company is passionate about land stewardship, and providing access to clean food.  They view Organic as a philosophy and movement, not simply a label. They strive to move beyond the label and carry the spirit of the organic movement forward.

Gerry Ranch & One Acre Farm

Gerry Ranch is a gorgeous location that doubles as a working farm that grows lemons, avocados, and blueberries as well as the perfect spot to host events. The beautiful ranch consists of 38 acres that offer expansive views of the foothills, valley, orchards, and fields.

Gerry Ranch’s Ranch One Acre Farm is available for Blueberry U-Pick. The dates and times vary per week and availability. Check their Facebook page for the most recent updates.

One Acre Farm sits on the beautiful Gerry Ranch, and they grow delicious organic blueberries. The farm hosts pick your own U-Pick blueberry events on Saturdays while the blueberries are in season. Not only are the blueberries delicious, U-Pick is also enjoyable for the whole family.

Las Posas Berries

Las Posas Berries is a roadside farm stand that offers sweet and juicy strawberries in Camarillo. The strawberries are picked fresh daily and the stand also offers a variety of seasonal produce. Strawberries are an integral part of the Camarillo experience, and you can’t leave without trying some of the freshly picked selection at Las Posas Berries.

Farmers Market

Camarillo’s Certified Farmers Market is a must-visit location in Camarillo. The Farmers Market is beloved by many locals and visitors alike. All of the products offered at the market, including fruits, eggs, baked goods, and meats come from local farms or vendors and are sold directly to the public. The Market takes place every Saturday from 8:00 a.m to noon in Old Town Camarillo. Enjoy the curated vendors and their wide selection of the highest quality locally grown produce and goods.

Unique Experiences

Houweling’s Tomatoes

Houweling’s Tomatoes is a world-renowned greenhouse tomato grower with a facility in Camarillo. They are dedicated to delivering a full complement of scrumptious tomatoes and cucumbers, while constantly innovating to reduce their environmental footprint. The Houweling’s vision for sustainability is based on the principles of environmental soundness, economic feasibility and social equity. They have made tremendous inroads toward fulfilling this vision, such as generating solar electric power, conserving water, minimizing pest and plant disease, and providing year-round jobs for 400+ employees in Camarillo. Although daily tours are currently unavailable, Houweling’s participates in Ventura County Farm Day where tours are available during this one-day event.

Underwood Family Farms

Underwood Family Farms is a Southern California staple and 10 minutes from Camarillo in Somis, CA. The facility offers the opportunity for visitors to pick their own vegetables, ranging from tomatoes, spinach, beans, and other in-season produce. Additionally, the farm hosts educational tours, visitor tours, wagon rides, and trolley rides. The farm is perfect for people that want to get outdoors, experience immersive farm activities, and taste the freshest produce.

Underwood Family Farms Somis is starting their Strawberry U-Pick season on Saturday, March 13. Along with their strawberries, they also have tangerine and oranges available to pick now. More U-Pick produce will be available later on in the season including Blueberries in May, Raspberries in June, and Blackberries in July. Check their calendar for more details and information.
