We put this 3-day itinerary together to inspire you to unplug and carve out quality time away with your loved ones. And if you need some extra inspiration, this video will help you transport yourself here mentally.

Day 1 – Check out the Scene in Camarillo Old Town

Upon arrival in Camarillo, the first order of business is getting checked into your hotel. Choose from 11 properties easily accessed from Highway 101 and centrally located to area attractions. From extended stay options to a boutique hotel in the heart of Camarillo Old Town, we have lodging options for all types of travelers.

After settling in, head to Camarillo Old Town  for a shop and stroll along pedestrian-friendly Ventura Boulevard. This is where you’ll find locally owned independent boutiques, eateries, and watering holes and even some incredible deals at local thrift or antique stores. Stoke your creative fire Painting with a Twist (reservations recommended) or enjoy fun and games at Zander’s Game House.

Cap your evening off with dinner and drinks at Twenty88, a local favorite for New American cuisine and craft cocktails. If you’d prefer a more casual, brew-centric meal, Twisted Oak Tavern is another excellent option for an early dinner. End the night on a sweet note with a stop at one our local dessert shops include Mister Softee Ice Cream Shop or Rori’s artisanal creamery.

Day 2 – Museums, Libations and Local Cuisine

Kick-start your day with coffee (or tea) and freshly baked goods at the European-inflected Café Ficelle. Then fill your lungs with fresh air on a hike, soaking up the peace and tranquility and taking in scenic views on trails in nearby open spaces such as Hill Canyon, Point Mugu State Park, or Camarillo Grove Park.

Head towards the airport for lunch at Waypoint Café. Aviation fans will appreciate the views of the small planes taking off and landing, as well as checking out the vintage military aircraft at nearby Commemorative Air Force Southern California Wing. If animals that take flight are more of interest, head to the Western Foundation of Vertebrate Zoology Bird Museum and Research Center to dive into the bird-centric exhibits of eggs, nests, and skins.

After exercising your mind and body, it’s time for an afternoon slow down. And what better way to chillax than exploring the world of libations?! Do a mini DIY beer crawl with stops at Topa Topa Brewing Co. , Flat Fish Brewing Co., and Institution Ale and visit our new cider maker, Camarillo Cider House. Oenophiles can savor tastings at Cantara Cellars, Camarillo Custom Crush Winery, Pantass Cellars (Saturday-Sunday), Back Patio Cellars (Friday-Sunday), and The Wine Closet. Spirits lovers can get acquainted with local distillers such as Camarillo Craft Spirits and Chareau Distillery, the latter of which makes the world’s first all-natural aloe liqueur. Although no tasting room is available, you can enjoy at many local restaurants including Slate Bistro.

When you’re ready for dinner, keep drinking local at Relm Wine & Beer Bistro, which features live music on weekends. Cocktail connoisseurs won’t want to miss a meal at Slate Bistro & Craft Bar, where the elevated seasonal cuisine also shines. And Sheila’s Wine Bar Café is renowned for the depth and breadth of their wine list.

Day 3 – Shop great deals at Camarillo Premium Outlets
